You may have noticed that your bill at the grocery store has been higher. I have noticed that many products have been shrinking. Liberal Economist, Paul Krugman, recently blogged about this issue. His opinion based upon the present USDA World Supply and Demand estimates is due to this past summer's extreme dryness the world's demand for grains has out paced current production. It is interesting that grain effects beef and chicken pricing as well as bread and cereal.
