Former Pro Bowl safety Dave Duerson committed suicide on February 17th, 2011. But before doing so he texted family and friends asking that they have his brain examined for a brain injury; chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Currently, 2 dozen deceased NFL Players have been diagnosed with CTE. Duerson's brain will be studied at the University of Boston Medical School.
I recommend reading Dr Daniel Amen's books "A Magnificent Mind at Any Age" and "Change Your Brain, Change Your Body" or surf his website. You will be shocked at how destructive some of our hobbies and habits can be to our brain.
