Worsening Trends in the Management and Treatment of Back Pain

"Despite numerous published clinical guidelines, management of back pain has relied increasingly on guideline discordant care. Improvements in the management of spine-related disease represent an area of potential cost savings for the health care system with the potential for improving the quality of care."

Journal of American Medical Association

I read an article just yesterday where a researcher and professor at Harvard Medical School stated that most back pain goes away on its own.
The issue with medicinal care of lower back pain is that they focus so much on the disc that fail to realize that there a multitude of support tissue that must be dealt with in order to realign the tissue.
