Balanced Hormones; Balanced Health

I enjoy learning.  Even after 24 years, I still enjoy attending seminars and gaining information that come Monday morning, I can take back to the office and get results. This past weekend it was a pleasure to attend Dr Rhonda Nelson's seminar entitled "Balance Hormones; Balance Health"  Hormonal issues are very topical as they effect both men and women.
From the limited conversations I have had with patients this week, there is a great demand for natural solutions to hormonal challenges and their side effects.
I will be formulating a lecture that will outline the cause and effects of hormonal imbalances as well as a straight forward plan of action that has proven to be very effective in correcting the problem.

In the meantime, here are a few bullet points from the seminar:

  • Hormones cannot be effectively measured through blood work.
The only way to measure unbound estrogen,
progesterone and testosterone is via saliva testing.
  • Stress (real or perceived) Low Fat diets and Chemical exposure ( including synthetic progesterone and estrogen) are leading causes of hormonal imbalance.
  • Prolonged stress can result in Adrenal Dysfunction which can produce Estrogen Dominance, Weakened Immune system, Thyroid dysfunction, poor sleep, inflammation, Digestive disorders and Accelerated aging.
  • A women's hormones can become imbalance via her partner.
Men taking supplements or medications to enhance
testosterone can pass these chemicals through the skin
        via contact with their partner.

There was a lot more information that is too detailed for this blog but will be in an upcoming lecture.  Keep an I out for the dates on the next newsletter.
