Woman Dies After Triathalon

I will continue to present the down side of cardiovascular prioritized exercise until it finally sinks in that at minimum its importance has been over emphasized and at worst it reduces the lifespan of its over zealous participants.
This weekend two participants of the New York City Triathlon, an Olympic distance Triathlon, were pronounced dead from cardiac arrest. A 64 year old man and a 40 year old woman. The tragedy underscores the dangers of extensive cardiovascular activity and the lack of recuperation that these individuals give their bodies.
Thank goodness cardiac arrest is not as rampant as degenerative knees and hips are to runners. A recent Informational article in Cincinnati Magazine stated that younger, active people are requiring hip and knee replacement surgery. I'll bet my last dollar they are not lifting weights and doing sprints. The fact that despite the incidence of the degenerative changes presented in younger and presumed healthier people, the Experts are still emphasizing cardiovascular fitness! Talk about job security.
The only thing that seperates man from beast is intellect. It is about time we start working smarter not harder.
